This course has been run twice in 2007 and again in 2009 by Stephanie Taylor of Critical Eye Communications. It looked at Wikis, Blogs and RSS feeds. It began with an overview of social computing and the concept of Web 2.0 It defined Blogs and Wikis giving definitions of both and looked at how they are being used in the LIS sector. Stephanie then demonstrated how to set up a Blog and a Wiki using free web applications. The course concluded with a look at using social computing for professional current awareness and communicating with users.
